Mu'āshra aur Nafsiyāt by Zehra Kamal Alam
Zehra Kamal Alam is a practising psychologist and a consultant with twenty-seven years of experience on issues of mental health, child protection, and gender based violence. She holds a Masters in Psychology (Major in Clinical Psychology) from the University of Karachi, and a Masters in Psychology of Education from Columbia University. At Columbia University, she has specialised in global mental health and trauma issues.
Zehra has practiced with a diverse group of individuals including children and young people with behavioral difficulties, adjustment issues, and traumatic life experiences. She has also worked with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, difficult life experiences including domestic and sexual violence. She received her initial on-the-job training and supervision in Pakistan from US-trained mental health professionals. Currently, she provides supervision support to a local mental health helpline and three school-based mental health programs.
