Reclaiming First Century Christianity

There are aspects of New Testament (NT) faith & practice that are missing in the typical church experience today, aspects that need to be reclaimed. First century Christianity as it is revealed in the NT involves principles and practices that have either been abandoned or else replaced with modern cultural conventions as substitutes.

No, I’m not talking about wearing robes & tunics & sandals, or lighting our homes with lamps burning olive oil. I’m talking about times of assembly & fellowship that are not structured according to a performance/audience dynamic, with every aspect of the “worship service” being scripted, with all “ministry” being funneled through professionals or programs.

We are seeking to reclaim faith, fellowship and service in our day as we see it in the days of the apostles. Let’s look to NT patterns of Christians living life together, and do our best to that back, to reclaim first century Christianity.
