Phillip Hall

I am an Australian poet, critic & independent scholar. I studied English, History & Philosophy at Sydney University, before completing via external/part-time studies a Master of Letters (intellectual history) at University of New England, & a Doctor of Creative Arts (poetry) at University of Wollongong. For many years I worked as a sports/outdoor education instructor, but now exist full-time in reading & writing. I live in a tiny home with my knight in shining brindle, a greyhound ex-racer named Billy-Blue. I read poetry (especially contemporary), horror, classics, mythology, fantasy, magic realism, & philosophy (around such obsessions as ethics, aesthetics, consciousness & free-will). When I am not reading or smooching with Billy-Blue, I am listening to music (classical, klezmer, flamenco, jazz & bluegrass) or dreaming of things to write. I have currently published three poetry collections & a chapbook, with a verse-novel forthcoming sometime next year. I like to share & be inspired.
