José Manuel Sierra began his handball journey with CB Pedro Alonso Niño in Moguer.

He made his big move to FC Barcelona (1996–2000), where he won:
5 Liga ASOBAL titles
3 Spanish Cups (Copa del Rey)
1 ASOBAL Cup
4 EHF Champions League titles
3 European Super Cups
After Barcelona, he played for:
BM Valladolid (2000–2003)
BM Ciudad Real (2003–2004)
Returned to BM Valladolid until 2012, where he won:

EHF Cup Winners’ Cup (Recopa) in 2009
From 2012 to 2014, he joined Paris Saint-Germain Handball:
Won the French League (LNH Division 1) in 2013

Then moved to Pick Szeged (Hungary), helping them win the Hungarian Championship in 2018.

Played for USM Saran (France)
Then returned to Spain to play for Bidasoa Irún, where he was awarded:
