Ministry for Regulation
In May 2024 the Government Regulatory Practice Initiative (G-REG) was transferred to the Ministry for Regulation.
We are now the Regulatory System Capability team, focused on lifting quality across all regulatory systems and supporting agencies with regulatory responsibilities to align with good practice. It is important New Zealand has sound regulatory settings to support a modern, open market economy.
The Ministry for Regulation is a central agency established to provide leadership across government for improvements in the quality of regulation and the performance of regulatory systems.
