Foo Camp
O'Reilly Foo Camp was originally designed as an “unconference.” Since 2003, we’ve invited participants to our orchard campus in Sebastopol for a summer weekend, where we share with each other our current work, the things we’re thinking about and exploring, and what makes us curious and excited.
As the organizers, we at O’Reilly don’t curate what people will talk about—talks are proposed and carried out over the weekend in a dozen or so hour-long sessions held in parallel in rooms around our campus. Since the original event, we've added Sci Foo—co-organized by Google and Digital Science, with support from Nature and Social Sci Foo--co-organized by Facebook and SAGE Publishing, with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. #scifoo
