Marina Alexandrova, PhD

This is the official channel of Dr. Marina Alexandrova, an Associate Director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies and Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Alexandrova received her MA in English from Saratov State University, and her PhD in Comparative Literature (Russian and Spanish American Literatures) from the University of Texas at Austin. Voted "Texas 10" most popular UT-Austin professors in 2019, Dr. Alexandrova teaches a variety of courses on Russian history, culture, and language. Her current research interests include the history of Russian-American relations, Russian radical and revolutionary movements, spirituality in Imperial Russia, and, most recently, cultural and spiritual ties between Russia and the United States. Dr. Alexandrova hosted "The Russian Hour," a weekly free event for learners of Russian as a foreign language at the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at UT-Austin.
