Welcome to Cantonese Corner!
My name is Sue Marguerite, and I moved to Hong Kong from the USA as a young adult in 1988 with girlfriends I'd met at university.
I learned to speak Cantonese and read and write Traditional Characters in Cantonese pronunciation as an adult. I didn't plan on teaching others to do the same, but it just seemed to happen that way when a friend asked me to help her learn. ☺️
My mission now is to teach everyone to speak Cantonese and read/write Traditional Characters in Cantonese Pronunciation. Plus, I like playing mahjong and learning more about the culture and history of Hong Kong, so I do videos on that, too.
Unrelated, but kinda fun fact: I'm also a professional voiceover artist and have recorded countless commercials, documentaries, telephone hotlines, hotel wake up calls, and more in Hong Kong since working at TVB in the early 1990s. If you need something recorded, I can help. 🤗
