Watchmaker Chris

I have been collecting watches for years, and have been learning to repair them. I decided to make a set of videos detailing the complete service I am performing on a watch that I inherited from my grandfather. The watch, a gold-plated Benrus Citation Copley from 1955 and has a Swiss made ETA 1220 movement.

I removed the movement from the watch, completely disassembled it, cleaned all of the parts, relubricated, then reassembled it and adjusted it for accurate timekeeping. The watch was losing 5 minutes a day before I serviced it; now it run 5 seconds a day fast...an excellent performance for a mechanical watch, especially one that is 70 years old!

I am going to continue my watchmaking journey, and still have much to learn. I'll keep posting videos of the watches I repair so that you can watch as I learn, make mistakes, and grow from the experience.
