Writers’ Trust of Canada hosted one of the richest and most robust literary events in the country November 13, 2025, presenting seven literary awards and more than $375,000 to Canadian writers at the annual Writers’ Trust Awards. Prizes were given for an outstanding debut book by an LGBTQ2S+ emerging writer, best books of the year for nonfiction and fiction, and career achievement across genres. This year’s awards ceremony was held at CBC’s Glenn Gould Studio and was hosted by Mattea Roach, host of CBC’s Bookends with Mattea Roach.
The Writers’ Trust Awards is partially funded by the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage. Media partner The Globe and Mail provides additional support.
