In this reading vlog, I take you along as I read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier for the very first time. As an elementary school teacher, I usually read middle grade books so I can recommend them to my students and their parents—but every once in a while, I like to step outside my comfort zone and read an adult classic.
With its gothic atmosphere, slow-burn tension, and psychological twists, Rebecca was the perfect choice for the darker months of the year. I break the reading into sections, share spoiler-light reactions along the way, and give my final thoughts on why this novel is still so powerful nearly a century after its publication.
