In this video we take a comprehensive look at the Port Melbourne Light Rail, a section of tram Route 109 that used to be the Port Melbourne Railway Line, which was originally Australia's first railway line, opening in 1854. Along with the nearby St Kilda Railway Line, it was converted into light rail in 1987 so trams could operate on it.
We start the video at the Southbank Tram Depot stop, the only stop on the line that wasn't a former railway station. We then move down to Montague, which is home to the infamous Montague Street bridge, a low 3 meter bridge that's become a Melbourne icon due to the amount of vehicles that crash into it, including a number of buses. So much so it has it's own Facebook page and had a song written about it:

After that we visit the other three stops on the line; North Port, Graham and Beacon Cove (Port Melbourne). The latter is home to the old Port Melbourne station building, the only station on the line to survive to this day.
C1 Class Trams (Alstom Citatis) are the usual trams that are operating on the line, but some A Class trams can be seen on it every now and again.
