This drive features my friend, a long-time Tesla owner who’s been driving a 2014 Model S P85D since the early days of Tesla.

She already knows she wants Full Self-Driving, and now that she’s shopping for her next Tesla, she’s spending real time with modern FSD on the regular drives that make up her everyday life.

Throughout the drive, we talk through what’s changed in modern Teslas, how FSD feels in everyday use, and the kinds of questions that come up when a long-time owner starts thinking about upgrading. If you’ve owned a Tesla for years, skipped earlier FSD versions, or are currently researching newer Tesla models, this perspective may feel very familiar.
