The Sermon: God's Favour For His People
Be inspired by a very great and powerful sermon delivered by Ordinand Ronald Saturday, a clergy in training at Grace Bible College, currently on field placement.

Topic: "GOD'S FAVOUR FOR HIS PEOPLE"
Scripture: Genesis 37:1++, drawing from Chapters 37, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45.

Ord. Saturday explores the profound truth of being created in God's own image, God's mighty power, and His final say over your life, challenging us to appreciate the beauty of our neighbours and not take God's love for granted!

The message vividly illustrates these truths through the comprehensive Story of Joseph (Genesis 37, 39-45):

Envy and Betrayal (Gen 37): The journey begins with Joseph's prophetic dreams, leading to the severe envy of his brothers who conspire against him and sell him into slavery in Egypt.

Integrity and Imprisonment (Gen 39-40): Despite his faithfulness in Potiphar’s house, Joseph resists temptation and is unjustly thrown into prison. While incarcerated, he faithfully interprets the dreams of Pharaoh’s chief baker and butler, demonstrating his God-given gift.

Elevation to Power (Gen 41): After two years, Joseph is called upon to interpret Pharaoh’s troubling dreams of seven years of plenty followed by seven years of severe famine. God’s wisdom shines through Joseph, leading Pharaoh to immediately elevate him to second-in-command of all Egypt to manage the coming crisis.

Reconciliation and Deliverance (Gen 42-45): When the famine strikes, Joseph's brothers are forced to travel to Egypt for food. The narrative follows their encounters with Joseph (who they do not recognize), his tests of their character (bringing Benjamin), their deep repentance, and the emotional climax of Joseph revealing his identity. The story culminates in the glorious reconciliation of the entire family and their settlement in Egypt, proving that God was working out a sovereign plan of deliverance—turning Joseph from "zero to a hero!"
