Watch the FULL SERVICE of the historic Pastoral Visit by The Right Reverend Gaster Nsereko, Bishop of West Buganda Diocese, to All Saints Nyendo Church of Uganda - Masaka on October 12, 2025!
The Sermon: Our Promises to God Are Solemn and Binding
This monumental service includes the confirmation of 218 Christians into Christianity. The Bishop delivers a powerful and profound message on commitment, titled "Our Promises to God Are Solemn and Binding."
Key Message: "A Promise is a debt. Failure to pay one's debt is punishable!" The Bishop urges all Christians, especially the newly confirmed, to keep hold of their promises to God for life and take their covenant seriously.
Urgent Call to Prayer for the Anglican Communion
The Bishop dedicated a significant portion of his message to an urgent appeal for prayer regarding the direction of the Church of England (CoE).
The Concern: The Bishop stressed that the recent appointment of Dame Sarah Mullally as the new Archbishop of Canterbury is deeply troubling. As a bishop who supported the motion to offer blessings to same-sex couples in civil partnerships and marriages (voted for by the CoE in 2023), her leadership threatens to fully turn the CoE away from Biblical teachings on Marriage and Sexuality. Since the Archbishop of Canterbury is the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion, this is a crisis of faith.
The Stand of the Church of Uganda: Bishop Nsereko stressed that the House of Bishops, led by the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Uganda (His Grace Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu), and in fellowship with GAFCON (The Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans), has made the firm decision to stick to Christ and abide strictly by Biblical Teachings. The Church of Uganda has publicly declared that it parted from the Church of England, stating the CoE is no longer Anglican because it has gone against the fundamental faith. The Bishop requests that all Christians pray for the Archbishop, the House of Bishops, and for the leadership of the Church of Canterbury and the entire Church of England, that they may turn back to Christ and be saved.
