I've been one of those few fortunate persons who got this opportunity to witness a meeting of Indian and Chinese armies on indian side of LAC at Spanggur gap near Chushul village on 15-08-2006 on the invitation of Indian army. There the Brigadier Mr. Manvendra Singh of 114 infantry brigade(named in honour of 114 men of 13 Kumaon regiment led by Major Shaitan Singh, PVC, who laid down their lives to save Chushul and Ladakh during 1962 war with China), told us about the valour and sacrifice made by these men on 18th November 1962, the war was fought through out the night in those bone chilling conditions saving the honour of our nation. 114 Indian men aid down their lives killing around 400 Chinese. This place is like a pilgrimage for every Indian soldier, and I was most fortunate to go there twice, second time as recently as 16th November 2018, but my bad luck I lost all my video footage due to some fault in my hard disk. So I thought it prudent to share my old recording with you all. Although by today's standards the quality is not good, but then at that time only this was available as far as video recording is concerned. I hope you all will share my joy of being at that wonderful place and see the video till end to get the full information, the fruits of pilgrimage and the feel of being at such a wonderful place from your homes.
