TRIP REPORT | First Time on Lufthansa A340 | Frankfurt to Los Angeles | Lufthansa Airbus A340-300

Lufthansa Trip Report flying from Frankfurt to Los Angeles onboard one of the last Lufthansa A340-300, on a beautiful day, particularly in the US.

We took off from Frankfurt towards the east and quickly made a 90° turn to the north to start our route to Los Angeles. We crossed all Germany towards the north and entered the Northern Sea, leaving Denmark on our right.

For the next 4 hours, we just saw the ocean: water and clouds everywhere. Until eventually reaching Greenland, after flying to the north of Iceland. From Greenland, we flew towards Canada across the Baffin Bay. We crossed all Canada flying towards Montana, in the US. We flew towards the Yellowstone Park and then towards Salt Lake City. After leaving Las Vegas on our right we made a right turn towards Los Angeles, where we landed on time, after a beautiful approach over the city.

About the onboard service, I must say that Lufthansa is slowly improving the service. The salad on the main service is not lettuce with lettuce anymore, but a proper salad; and the cake is something more elaborated. The bread is still cold as ice, but the warm meal seems to have a little more work on it. I decided to take the Chicken BBQ option. It was generally good, but I still think the amount is not enough for an almost 12-hour flight.

5 hours after the crew offered 15 grams of crackers. The most ridiculous snack I've seen on a long flight like this one.

1 hour before the arrival, the second meal was served. Well, if that can be called a meal... It was a cheese and vegetables sandwich together with a yogurt. Call me crazy, but I think the service offered on these 12h flights was tiny.
