How Do We Calculate A Stockpile Volume From Point Data?

Step 1: Check the survey point file provided by the client. Verify X, Y, Z, and description.
Step 2: Import the survey data into Civil 3D. Make sure to select the appropriate file format for the survey data and create a point group for better management.
Step 3: Create a surface from the imported data for the pile of soil.
Step 4: Create an extra boundary for the surface just created to obtain data for generating a new surface for the bottom of the pile of soil.
Step 5: Create a surface for the bottom of the pile of soil.
Step 6: Calculate the volume of the pile of soil using the method of comparing two surfaces.
Step 7: Analyze elevation using color coding and display the height difference between two surfaces.
Step 8: Export the cut/fill volume summary.
