On July 11, 1955 Judy Garland's concert tour followed a stop in San Diego with this performance at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium. Judy's great pal, Frank Sinatra, used the occasion to celebrate Judy and have a traveling party at the same time. He chartered a luxury bus and loaded it with members of the original Rat Pack along with some more of Hollywood's elite. Apparently, there was some partying going on on the bus, in the audience, and backstage, and although a few people sound a little worse for wear (No, I didn't call you out by name, Humphrey Bogart), Judy is in top form and, accompanied by the Jack Cathcart Orchestra, dazzles her friends with her talent and vocal power. Joining Judy on stage are Paul Sand, Sinatra, Bogart, the Hi-Lo's, Lauren Bacall, Mike Romanoff, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis. Songs: Having A Party, The Man That Got Away, While We're Young, Carolina In The Morning, A Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow, You Made Me Love You, For Me And My Gal, The Boy Next Door, The Trolley Song, Rockabye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody, After You've Gone, A Couple Of Swells, Over The Rainbow, Liza, Swanee, Meet The Rat Pack, Marie. Frank Sinatra had the concert recorded and pressed on vinyl and distributed to the bus contingent as keepsake souvenirs of the day/evening.
