On August 31, 1967 Judy Garland performed before her single largest live audience when she gave a concert on the Boston Common, or as locals call it "The Common". One fifth of the entire population of the city came out to see Judy's performance which was underwritten by the Knickerbocker Beer company as a free gift to the people of Boston. And that night the city returned the favor by showering Judy with love, enthusiasm, and appreciation, not to mention that right before she sang Over The Rainbow Mayor John Collins, presented Garland with an engraved original Paul Revere silver bowl on behalf of the entire city!. Judy is accompanied here by the Bobby Cole orchestra and the songs performed are: Overture, I Feel A song Coming on, Almost like Being In Love, This Can't Be Love, Just In Time, How Insensitive, You Made Me Love You, For Me And My Gal, The Trolley Song, What Now My Love, That's Entertainment, Hello Dolly, Old Man River, Rockabye You Baby With A Dixie Melody, San Francisco, Swanee, and Over The Rainbow. I don't know who the two men at the end of the tape are but I included them because I think a lot of us can relate to their excitement. Judy Garland artwork by Alejandro Mogollo and comes to us courtesy of The Charles Triplett Collection.
