The classical, historical doctrine of the Trinity is fully compatible with the doctrine of Divine Simplicity. However, novel formulations of the Trinity, such as Social Trinitarianism or the heretical "Trinity" espoused by Steven Anderson , Jonathan Shelley and the New IFB cult (NIFB) represent gross violations of Divine Simplicity, and thus deny God's aseity or self sufficiency. We mock the New IFB's tri-layer cake analogy for the Trinity, with all the harshness it deserves.
