The Austin Western Railroad operates almost 24/7. However, this 24/7 operation certainly does not happen everywhere at once. On parts of the line's Central Subdivision, trains typically only run at night as not to block MetroRail regional passenger trains. During a week-long MetroRail shutdown, this AWRR train consisting of a ridiculous four locomotive, three tank car lashup was sent out to test the new trackage. Here it is running south in broad daylight, exceedingly rare for this portion of the Central Sub.
