Canine units alerted to human remains at a burn pile along a dirt path. Anthropologists confirmed the presence of human remains, which were linked to Jessica Barnes. Investigators traced the co-defendants purchasing shovels, cleaning supplies, and other items to dispose of the body and clean the crime scene.

The three co-defendants reportedly went on a multi-state trip from September 17–21, raising further concern about flight risk during bond hearings. Trail cameras captured them returning to the location where Jessica’s body had been burned. Interviews revealed multiple conflicting stories from Victoria Tippett: initially claiming Jessica left voluntarily, then alleging suicide, and later suggesting an accidental death. Kendall Mims reportedly was not present at the time of the murder but helped dispose of the body after discovering it.

The case highlights premeditation, obstruction, and the complexities of multiple co-defendants. The court must weigh these factors carefully when determining bond and future proceedings.
