Welcome back to Week Seven – the final instalment of our Containment Seal mini-series with Lee Gooch.
Over the past seven weeks, we’ve explored the history and design of containment seals, industry perceptions and operational pitfalls and safety considerations and total life costs.
This week, we focus on safety risk assessments before implementing containment seals. Why? Because there are no API or regulatory guidelines for monitoring or integrity testing during operation. LDAR programmes only detect emissions when it’s too late.
AESSEAL has developed a risk assessment paper to help operators make informed decisions. This is not a sales pitch. It’s a safety resource that can be applied to any plant worldwide. You’ll also find a recommended procedure for periodic containment seal testing.
Both documents are freely available in the Resources section at https://www.aesseal.com. Thank you for following this series. If you have questions or need guidance, please reach out to your local AESSEAL representative.
