Containment Seals Week 6 - Total Life Costs

Welcome back to Week Six of our Containment Seal mini-series with Lee Gooch.

This week we tackle a common misconception. Pressurised dual seals aren’t always the most expensive option when you consider total installed and operational costs.

While containment seals often look attractive due to low purchase price and minimal auxiliary systems, the reality is different. When you factor in reliability and whole-life costs, Plan 53B systems often deliver better value and safety than containment seals.
The takeaway? Don’t just compare upfront hardware costs. Evaluate the full picture including installation, utilities, and ongoing maintenance.
