Can a little rain dampen our November horse ride?

November is typically one of the two wettest months of the year in the UK and although I have my trusty forty year old leather chaps I don't like getting caught out in the rain.
Join me and Welsh Cob Bud for a typical hack down the lanes of Shropshire enjoying the autumnal colours of the trees and hedges. We hope that the cars will slow down and give us plenty of room and adhere to the highway code which states -
Always pass wide and slowly. When you see a horse on a road, you should slow down to a maximum of 10 mph. Be patient, do not sound your horn or rev your engine. When safe to do so, pass wide and slow, allowing at least 2 metres of space.
Will this happen? You'll see!
I hope you enjoy this gentle little video of a typical short horse ride round the Shropshire country lanes with me and Bud and the question is
Will it rain?
I'm wearing my old chaps but what do you wear out riding in the rain and do you own any ancient horse riding equipment or clothing that still serves you well?
Quick evening ride with Bud, hoping to avoid the rain on this chilly November day. Rocking my trusty old leather chaps, I take the horse out for a short trip around the country side. Another autumn ride to remember!
