How to Cook Adlai Fried Rice
Ingredients:
2 cups cooked Adlai (chilled overnight for best results)
2 tbsp cooking oil (canola, sesame, or olive oil)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, green peas, corn, bell peppers)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
½ cup protein of choice (chicken, shrimp, pork, or tofu)
2–3 tbsp soy sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for richer flavor)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions:
Prepare Adlai:
Cook Adlai grains according to package instructions (usually 1 cup Adlai: 2 ½ cups water, simmer until fluffy).
Let it cool or refrigerate overnight. Cold Adlai works best for fried rice because it’s less sticky.
Scramble eggs:
In a wok or pan, heat 1 tbsp oil. Pour in the beaten eggs, scramble until just set, then set aside.
Sauté aromatics:
Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
Add protein & veggies:
Stir-fry chicken, shrimp, or tofu until cooked through. Add mixed vegetables and cook until slightly tender.
Toss in Adlai:
Add the chilled Adlai grains. Stir-fry over medium-high heat, breaking up clumps.
Season:
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is coated.
Combine:
Return the scrambled eggs to the pan. Toss well to combine all ingredients.
Finish & serve:
Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.
✨ Tips:
For extra flavor, drizzle a little sesame oil before serving.
You can make it spicy by adding chili flakes or chopped siling labuyo.
Great for using up leftovers—just toss in whatever meat or veggies you have.
