I stopped going to lectures and taking notes in medical school. I spent all my time in college taking notes and did well, but that strategy did not work in medical school. I rebuilt a systematic way to learn new material and focused on understanding over memorizing. After graduating from medical school and now in an internal medicine residency, I can surely say that my new approach to studying as been foundational to my growth.
