Here we have the Joseph L. Block downbound on the St Mary's River on the calm morning of October 4th, 2025. They were fully loaded with Taconite that they loaded in Marquette Mi. They were heading to Indiana Harbor Indiana with that load.
I start the video off with a distant Master Salute that could be heard from the Edgar B. Speer at West Pier. West Pier is about 4 miles from Rotary Island Park. Because of the still morning, He could hear the salute loud and clear. I was shocked at how well my phone picked it up. I thought it was worth putting it in the video! Then the Joseph L. Block let out a great Captains Salute for the small crowd at Rotary Island Park.
