Taxpayers are paying more to get less than ever! Labor's $60 billion fund has built no houses as it is swamped down in a bureaucratic quagmire. Instead, this money is going to buy houses, in competition with average Australians, to keep up the image that the government cares about this housing crisis.
Meanwhile, they are paying twice the average cost to construct a house to developers. The only hope now to get around this government's addiction to secrecy is the upcoming Auditor General's inquiry into the disaster that is Housing Australia. Maybe then there will finally be transparency and accountability by this government about how they are spending this taxpayer slush fund.
