In this video, I look at the comparisons of ruined castles in the life of a human .
Comparing a human life to a castle ruin.
Comparisons symbolise themes of former glory, decline, resilience, and the passage of time.
Former strength and grandeur- once a formidable structure, a symbol of wealth and power, security, a person in their prime, or peak of influence.
Decline and decay - the current state of ruin, crumbling walls, exposure to the elements serves a powerful analogy for one who has faced hardship, old age, illness, and personal loss. Ruins represent physical or emotional toll of life‘s sieges and storms.
Resilience and endurance - despite being ruinous, significant parts still stand suggesting a core strength or spirit that endure despite damage.
History and stories - a ruin holds centuries of history and legend, a person with a rich life carries a rich complex and personal history.
Beauty in imperfection - the decay in an abandoned castle can be seen as an analogy for a character in depth a person develops through trial and tribulation.
A place of reflection - contemplation of the past, our mortality and the nature of our existence.
The parallels of physical landscape of historical ruins and internal landscape of a persons life .
