Don’t Trust the Back Screen: Expose with the Histogram at Sunrise

Cold sunrise, rushed setup—so I lean on the histogram instead of the back screen. I show a simple composition at the line of thirds, switch from a 20 mm lens to a 28–75 zoom for a tighter frame, use ND filters for a long exposure to flatten the water, and then demo what underexposed and overexposed really look like on the histogram. You’ll see how the peaks shift as I change shutter speed, aperture (to f8), and ISO—and why exposing to the edge of the histogram prevents lost highlights and noisy shadows.
