Suran ka Halwa is a unique and nutritious Indian dessert made with elephant foot yam (suran), ghee, milk, and aromatic cardamom. This halwa is soft, rich, and melts in the mouth with every bite. Suran is known for its digestive benefits and warmth—making this halwa perfect for winters.
Ingredients (Samagri):
2 cups suran (boiled & mashed)
3–4 tbsp ghee
1 cup milk
½ cup sugar (as per taste)
¼ tsp cardamom powder
8–10 chopped dry fruits (almonds, cashews)
Recipe (Vidhi):
1. Peel, wash, and boil the suran until soft. Mash it well.
2. Heat ghee in a pan and add the mashed suran. Roast on medium flame until it becomes fragrant.
3. Add milk and mix continuously so lumps don’t form.
4. Add sugar and cook until the halwa turns glossy and starts leaving the pan.
5. Add cardamom powder and dry fruits. Mix well.
6. Serve hot and enjoy the warm, delicious Suran ka Halwa!
