INGREDIENTS:
Fov/poha/ flattened rice flakes – 2 cups
(cleaned, thoroughly washed, and strain all water)
Oil – 4 tbsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Chopped green chilli – 2
Curry leaves
Fresh coriander leaves
Chopped onion – 2 medium sizes
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Sugar – ½ tsp
Salt to taste
METHOD/PREPARATION
Step 1:
Thoroughly wash Fov/Rice Flatted 2 to 3 times in running tap water. strain all water, cover and keep it aside.
Step 2:
In a kadai, add oil. Once’s oil heats. Add mustard seeds once it starts popping up. Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chili, fresh coriander leaves and saute for some time on low flame. Add onion and saute till it is translucent. Now add turmeric powder and salt to taste, and mix it well on low. Add fov/ flatted rice and mix it well on low flame for 2 minutes. Switch off the gas and add chopped coriander leaves. cover and keep for 5 minutes. after 5 minutes open the lid and serve in the plate with sev and a slice of lemon.
Enjoy with tea or juice for breakfast.
