Slovenia, a small but topographically the most diverse country in Europe, that musters up all the major geographical landscapes ranging from mountains, plains and coasts alike. Ljubljana, one of the smallest capital in Europe, is a true jewel at the heart of the country. The city is famous about its walking possibilities and environmental friendly face since it scattered with many green parks. It is highly recommended to visit the Ljubljana Castle at the middle of Old Town that provides the feeling of protecting the city as a mighty guardian. Slovenia makes all your imagination come true when you wander through green forests, charming towns, snow covered fabulous hills and last but not least the wonderful underground Kart region. Small but not less important from the point of view of holiday making, you need to take into consideration the Slovenian beaches not to mention the 24 different gastronomical regions. This diversity derives from the influences that are linked to diversities of Slovenia’s geography, climate and history.
Slovenian soup :
Prežganka soupis typical in Trieste country side but known by every Slovenian. Did you know that, this food is very special since Slovenians make it across the whole country as a dietary supplements for digestive disorders?
Ingredients:
• 1.5 tablespoon pork fat (butter or vegetable oil),
• 1 full tablespoon flour,
• a pinch of cumin,
• a bit over 1 L water,
• 2 eggs,
• garlic,
• salt and pepper to taste,
• finely chopped parsley.
Instructions:
1st step: put fat into a pot, heat it and sprinkle some flour. Fry the flour on low heat until golden-brown.
2nd step: mix the flour with cooking spoon in order to fry it properly. Then, pour the cold water slowly and pay attention for the permanent stir to avoid making lumps of flour. Bring water to boil.
3rd step: fter 15 minutes, turn the heat, break the eggs and whisk them. You have to scatter the whisked eggs into the pot while constantly mixing.
4th step: ook the soup another 5 minutes. Only one step remained that is the seasoning. Add salt, pepper, garlic, cumin seeds, parsley and bay leaves and boil the soup for the last time.
