Kori Rotti | Mangalorean Chicken Curry - Traditional Mangalorean Recipe
Kori rotti is a spicy dish of Udupi-Mangalorean cuisine, a combination of red-chilli based chicken curry and crisp, dry wafers made from boiled rice. Kori Rotti or Mangalorean Chicken Curry is a tasteful dish made using chicken, spices and coconut milk. The curry is eaten with crunchy and chewy bread called Rotti. The Rotti is generally sourced from the market (Earlier these rotti were made at home) and is a staple in most Mangalore homes. This is a must curry on the menu whenever we have friends or family coming over for lunch or dinner. This Kori Rotti or Mangalorean Chicken Curry is also known as Kori Ghassi. You can serve this curry with rotti, sannas, appams, neer dosa, or a simple plain pulao.

List of ingredients
1 kg Chicken
5 Cardamons
6 Cloves
10-12 peppercorns
4 garlic pods
1 tsp poppy seeds
Small piece of tamarind
3/4 tsp cumin seeds
1 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
1-inch piece of cinnamon stick
3 Kashmiri chilly
6-7 bedgi chillies
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 big onion sliced for masala
1 large tomato chopped
2 medium potatoes cubed
2 onions chopped
1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cup of coconut milk
Salt as per taste
2 tsp ghee
2 tsp oil
