Visiting DRACULA'S CASTLE in TRANSYLVANIA, Romania | Bran Castle

In this video, we are starting our 2.5 week Romanian road trip!

Romania is famous for its castles, and without a doubt, Bran Castle is Romania's most well known castle. This castle is often associated with being the inspiration for the story Dracula. Bran sits 2,500 feet above the sea level and overlooks the surrounding landscape of Bran Village.

We started our day by leaving Bucharest and going to pick up our rental car. The initial plan was to make it to 2 castles before we headed to our Airbnb. As most travel plans go, things did not go to plan. We realized that most sites, including castles, are closed on Monday's. Even though we weren't able to go inside, we were able to drive by Iulia Hașdeu Castle and see the grounds and surrounding area.

Our second stop was at the famous Bran Castle. We arrived at the end of the day for the last guided tour, the only way to see the castle. We really enjoyed visiting a full furnished, pristine 16th century castle! We would definitely recommend paying the small fee to see the extra section of castle that is closed off to the normal tour.
