Composed and recorded entirely by Jim Kirkwood under his alias The Ancient Technology Cult in 2005, he used his synthesizers, sequencers, and home studio equipment to create these long, atmospheric instrumental pieces typical of occult ambient. Produced in very limited quantities as hand-burned CD-Rs with handcrafted artwork, and then distributed via his own micro-label Dark Age Music (D.A.M.) in the UK.

This particular album immerses the listener in a dark, cinematic, and deeply atmospheric soundscape. It constantly shifts between harsh sonic tensions, hypnotic rhythmic sequences, and calmer, more ambient passages that evoke strange mental landscapes or mystical places. The atmosphere is often oppressive and mysterious, with sudden rises in tension followed by more ethereal moments, thanks to the use of deep synth layers, celestial voices, tribal percussion, and evocative ambient sounds like jungles or church echoes. The whole experience recalls Kirkwood’s classic works, positioning him as a true master of the Berlin-School style, music that could easily serve as the soundtrack to an 80s fantasy movie.
