Philippine Holiday Pay is a legally mandated benefit granted to employees who work on regular holidays. Under this rule, workers are entitled to receive at least double their daily wage if they report for duty on such days. If they do not work, they are still paid their basic daily rate, provided they are present or on leave with pay on the workday immediately preceding the holiday. This benefit is designed to recognize the significance of national holidays while fairly compensating labor rendered during special observances. It reflects the country’s commitment to protecting workers’ rights and promoting work-life balance through fair compensation.
