Philippine Premium Pay refers to the additional compensation given to employees who work on special non-working days or rest days. Unlike regular holiday pay, premium pay applies to days not considered regular holidays but are still recognized for extra compensation. For instance, if an employee works on a special day, they receive an extra 30% of their daily rate. If it falls on a rest day, the rate increases further. This benefit encourages fair treatment for labor rendered beyond regular workdays, ensuring that employees are justly rewarded for their commitment while supporting productivity even during traditionally non-working periods.
