Naju is a small Seoul-like city.
During the millennium, Naju served as the center of Jeollanam-do.
Naju has been in the vicinity of Naju Innovation City since 2005.

As part of this, the four main gates of Naju-fortress were restored.
The Naju fortress, destroyed in the Japanese colonial era, is being restored to this day.
