Replacing the timing belt on my Honda Civic D14!

Today I’m diving into my brand-new project car: a 1998 Honda Civic with the D14 engine! I recently picked this Civic up for just 750 euros, and this is the very first video in the series where I’ll be documenting all the work I put into bringing it back to life. Since I usually wrench on Volvos, this Honda is new territory for me—but that makes it even more fun.

In this video, I’m tackling one of the most important maintenance jobs you can do on a used car: replacing the timing belt. Along with the timing belt, I’m also changing the tensioner and the water pump, because if you’re in there, you might as well do the whole job right. The D14 SOHC engine makes this job a little easier compared to some twin-cam setups, but it’s still a satisfying challenge—especially since I’m figuring things out as I go.
