In this video, I’m restoring the foggy headlights on my 1998 Honda Civic D14, giving them a fresh, clear look again! But before diving into the headlight restoration, there are a few other jobs that needed attention. Recently, I replaced the timing belt, but I forgot to order new drive belts at the time — and as it turned out, they were really worn out. So, I start this video by replacing the alternator and power steering belts, followed by a quick oil change to keep the engine running smoothly.
Once that’s done, it’s time to tackle the faded headlights. I go through the full DIY sanding and clear coat process to restore them, showing step-by-step how to bring old plastic headlights back to life. Before applying the clear coat, I also replace the spark plugs and air filter to make sure the Civic stays in good shape — and to avoid touching anything while the clear coat dries.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go perfectly the first time — the clear coat spray can exploded, leaving one of the headlights looking terrible. But I didn’t give up! A week later, I return to the garage to redo the clear coat properly.
