I model in a different way to any other modellers I know. I always designate a place on any layout, even test tracks, where I will place and remove my stock. Once stock is on track the realism starts and is aimed to be continuous untill removed from track. That means trying to eliminate the use of the Hand of God, and any movement the models make MUST try to be realistic, no matter what is happening, no matter if testing or demonstrating, the aim is to model, not sporadically, but continuously.
Therefore, what happens if a locomotive breaks down? In the real world another locomotive would come out to tow it back to the workshop. What happens in the real world if a steamer is in the yard but is in the way. Of course they do not steam it up just in order to move it, they shunt it out the way with a diesel. This is what this video is about. Enabling a locomotive to be towed.
