Dries is a complete T8 paraplegic whose sudden disability made him realise the power of believing in oneself. No matter what challenges you face, says Dries, if you believe you can do something then you can.
Once an avid sportsman and adventurist his passion for the outdoors and his new perspective on life led him to pioneer Adaptive Surfing in South Africa. The initiative creates an alternative sporting opportunity for people with any form of disability, from all walks of life. Importantly it creates a new perspective on what life as a disabled individual can be, free from societal constraints.
