Bodycam & Internal Affairs Expose Former CT State Trooper’s Hit-and-Run (UPDATE)

Former Connecticut State Police Sgt. Catherine Koeppel rear-ended a woman in Brookfield in July 2023 while off duty in her state-issued Dodge Charger. She fled the scene, lied to superiors claiming she hit a deer, and later admitted she had been texting and had consumed wine earlier that night. Internal affairs found she violated multiple agency rules, including lying to investigators and failing to aid the other driver, offenses that could have warranted termination. Koeppel has since left the force.
