Stop Section with Märklin START UP Light Signals 74391/74380/74371 using M84 60842/60841 (Beg Ep 5h)

In this video we look at how to make a stop section (or stop track) with the Märklin START UP Light Signals using the M84. A stop section is a section of track where the power is turned off when the signal is red such the locomotive/train will stop. The section is powered again when the signal turns green.

The stop section can be used with both the Märklin START UP Home Block Light Signal (Märklin 74391) and the Yard Light Signal (Märklin 74371). The Märklin START UP Distant Signal (Märklin 74380) may also be used in connection with the Home Block Light Signal. You can use the black edition M84 (Märklin 60842) or the white edition M84 (Märklin 60841) to create the stop section.

When creating a stop section (or stop track) the stop section is completely powered off stopping the locomotive/train. This means you need to test with all your locomotives on your layout to ensure they stop the correct place. Disadvantage is no power means light and sound also turns off.

In this video we use the same set up as in Beginner Episode 5g.
