Professor Cherie Kagan has been honored with the prestigious 2024-25 George H. Heilmeier Faculty Award for Excellence in Research for “fundamental contributions to colloidal nanocrystal materials and their use in electronic and optical devices.”
Kagan delivered the Heilmeier Lecture on Monday, March 31, where she shared insights on how colloidal nanocrystals (NCs) can function as artificial atoms. She discussed their potential applications in constructing materials and devices, including flexible NC electronics, developing the first NC integrated circuits, and creating magnetically and acoustically driven active matter.
Cherie Kagan is the Stephen J. Angello Professor in Electrical and Systems Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Chemistry.
