There are three types of vibrations you need to deal with:

Self-generated vibrations: internal mechanical/electrical resonances inside CD players, amps, turntables, etc.

📚 A Bit of Science Behind It:
Sand: Sand is inherently "dead" — it absorbs vibrational energy and converts it into heat.

MDF: Cheap but very effective material with good density and damping properties (better than basic plywood, though Baltic Birch is stiffer).
Important Tip:
✅ Your top shelf must "float" inside the sandbox.
✅ Maintain a small gap around the edges for real isolation.
✅ Level your top plate properly to avoid mechanical stress.
