Drone footage, of an infrequently covered location, starts at A421 London Road, west of Finmere and finishes at Featherbed Lane Overbridge, Mixbury Oxfordshire, UK. Both bridges are at a fairly advanced stage of construction, in fact one looks complete - ready for future tie-in to the road network which is due to take place summer 2025.
Featherbed lane will revert back to its orginal alignment, (unlike the A421 which will have a new alignment over the new bridge). Work on the realignment is currently underway on one side.
The Barton to Mixbury Cutting is the longest on the route at 4.1km, depth 11 metres, and the cutting finishes just north of here.
HS2 is the UK's newest high speed railway linking London to Birmingham and the north.
Trains are due to cross here in the early 2030's.
